Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to book in advance?

No booking needed for regular Saturday sessions - just show up! For special events and beginner lessons, we recommend contacting us to reserve a spot, though walk-ins are usually accommodated.

I've never played before. Is that okay?

Absolutely! Many of our current members started as complete beginners. We're experienced at teaching newcomers and have dedicated teaching resources. Consider attending a first-Saturday beginner lesson or arriving early to any session.

How long does a typical game take?

A single round usually takes 30-45 minutes, though beginner games may run longer. Most members play 2-4 rounds during a session. You can leave anytime - there's no obligation to stay for the full session.

What if I need to leave early?

No problem! Just let your table know at the start of a round. We can arrange tables to accommodate different schedules. The social, drop-in format is designed to be flexible.

Can I bring a friend or family member?

Yes, please do! The more the merrier. Just let us know at check-in so we can ensure enough tables and equipment. Friends of members pay the standard drop-in rate.

What styles of Mahjong do you play?

We primarily play Hong Kong style, which we find most accessible for beginners. We also have Taiwanese variant games and occasionally run Japanese Riichi sessions. Let us know your preference!
